Google Supporting Black-Owned Businesses
Today, Google launched the Black-owned attribute for Business Profiles on Google to help customers easily extend support to the Black business community.
Merchants in the U.S. with a verified Business Profile on Google canadd a Black-owned business attributeto their profile, making it easier for customers to find and support them. Additionally, as part of their $300 million commitment to support underrepresented entrepreneurs, we’re also integrating the attribute into the digital skills training programs we offer Black business owners through Grow with Google Digital Coaches.
Additionally, Google announced its first inaugural cohort of startups selected into the Google for Startups Accelerator for Black founders who are using technology to solve complex problems. The founders are geographically dispersed from Durham and Louisville to Chicago and Newark, Over the the next three months these entrepreneurs will "receive training and support from Google and industry experts on technical challenges, business growth, and outside investment opportunities to help them reach the next level", says Jewel Burks, Head of Google for Startups..
