LISC Launches $1.5 Million Fund for Charlotte Businesses
On Tuesday, August 18th 2020, LISC Charlotte launched their Neighborhood Business Grants program that will focus on underserved communities that often lack access to capital. This program will provide grants up to $20,000 for 75 businesses in the Charlotte area, including Mecklenburg County with a priority for entrepreneurs of color, women-owned and veteran-owned businesses. Businesses can use the funding to:
Pay rent & utilities
Pay outstanding debt to vendors
Upgrade technology infrastructure
Take care of other immediate operational costs
Businesses who have received funding from LISC via PPP or Micro Business Relief Fund are eligible to apply for these awards. Also if businesses received funding from any other source in the Charlotte area, they are also eligible to receive funding as part of this program. Non-profits, however, are not eligible for this round of funding.
The deadline to apply is August 23rd.
